Tip #1 - HANDLING YOUR PRINT

Tip #1 - HANDLING YOUR PRINT

If you didn't purchase your limited edition print in a frame at a gallery or art show, it came packaged within archival materials, so we suggest leaving the your artwork in the clear envelope until framing.

Oils from your skin can result in long-term discoloration where it contacts the paper and ink. You may not see it for awhile but after generations, some discoloration may appear. Like professional framers, it's best to handle your art by the sides, or the mat. If you're re-matting the artwork yourself, cotton gloves offer the best protection.

Tip #2 - MOUNTING/FRAMING YOUR PRINT

Tip #2 - MOUNTING/FRAMING YOUR PRINT

Your limited edition print is attached to an acid-free mounting board and framed with an acid-free mat. We've created the mats in standard off the shelf frame sizes, so feel free to frame your print as is.

Sometimes people use tape to attach art to mounting board, but many tapes can discolor paper over time. We use a tape-free method to secure your print to the provided mount to prevent this issue.

Tip #3 - GLASS OR PLASTIC?

Tip #3 - GLASS OR PLASTIC?

Dust and particulate matter can cause a print to deteriorate over time. Your print will maintain its original colors better when protected from these elements by glass or plastic/plexiglass.

UV rays can damage artwork. When placed under UV-rated glass or plastic, the life of your print can be extended by decades.

Tip #4 - HANGING YOUR PRINT

Tip #4 - HANGING YOUR PRINT

Avoiding direct sunlight and dampness (like bathrooms) can prolong print life. But unless you hang your print in a location with long-term direct sun exposure, the colors should still stay bright for years.

Certain light bulbs, including some LEDs can also emit damaging UV light, so please keep this in mind when illuminating any art.
